Signing the Fourth MoU, Polbeng and Yamaguchi University Japan Strengthen Collaboration

The Civil Engineering Department held a public lecture for Polbeng lecturers and academic communities with Prof. Koichi Yamamoto, a lecturer at Yamaguchi University in Japan and his two students, Akira Matsumoto and Mayuko Watanabe on Monday (24/6) in the Main Building\'s hall. During the public lecture, Prof. Koichi explained the results of his research on phenomena related to abrasion and fissures/landslides in peat areas in Bengkalis.

The event was officially opened by Teguh Widodo as Polbeng’s Vice Director for Student Affairs and Collaboration, and the event was attended by lecturers of State Polytechnic of Bengkalis.

In addition to presenting the research results, on this occasion, the two parties also signed the extended Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the fourth time. The agreement was signed by Teguh Widodo from Polbeng and Prof. Koichi Yamamoto from Yamaguchi University.

Prof. Koichi explained that the contents of the agreement included lecturer exchange, joint research, joint training, and student exchange. He also added that he often took students from Yamaguchi University to Bengkalis accompanied by Civil Engineering Department students of State Polytechnic of Bengkalis.

Meanwhile, Teguh Widodo conveyed Polbeng\'s plan to send Polbeng students to Yamaguchi University through the Sakura program in 2020.

\"This is the fourth extension of the collaboration. With several items outlined, we hope that this collaboration can continue to be improved for both parties,\" he said.
