The Kayak Archipelago Expedition is organized by the UiTM Sports Center in order to break the Malaysian Book of Records by rowing 100 kayaks for 60 kilometers from Port Dickson to Malacca and ending in Johor. Furthermore, 20 kayaks will continue their journey until they pass the Malaysian-Indonesian maritime boundaries and will dock in Bengkalis.
Yesterday\'s meeting of UiTM representatives was to request Polbeng’s assistance as a facilitator to pick up the UiTM group of 220 people, including students and leaders, because they plan to camp in the Polbeng campus area and carry out several activities while in Bengkalis, including community services, friendly matches, and a night of cultural exchange. The group is scheduled to be in Muar from 21-23, and then in Bengkalis from 23-25.
The series of activities will begin with welcoming the UiTM group at Selatbaru Harbor on July 23, followed by the Polbeng Goodwill with UiTM at Polbeng Campus in the evening.
The next day, July 24, there will be community service activities and an introduction to the culture of Bengkalis Regency by planting mangrove seedlings and a social service visit to the Panglima Minal Historic Tomb in Air Putih Village. On the same day, the group will be taken to Zapin Village, Meskom.
In the evening, the two parties will hold a cultural exchange event at Balai Kerapatan Adat Bengkalis before returning to Malaysia on July 25.
Muhamad Milchan, Polbeng Director, welcomed this collaboration. In addition to Polbeng, the implementation of the activity is also in collaboration with the Consulate of the Embassy, the Riau Province Tourism Office, and the Navy who will escort when the UiTM group has crossed the border.
This is in accordance with the discussion results on the visit of UiTM accompanied by Polbeng lecturers to the embassy consulate office in Pekanbaru on Tuesday (17/4). Today, both parties continue to make preparations for the implementation of the event.
